Yes, New England lost their first-round pick for cheating earlier this season, but the team traded out of the first round last April so the 49ers could to draft tackle Joe Staley. In exchange, the Pats received San Francisco’s 2008 first-rounder. And given that the 49ers are currently rocking a 3-9 record, it’s a safe bet New England will have a top-5 pick. In fact, if the season ended today, the Pats would own the No. 2 overall selection. Yep, that seems fair.
